Bra-Topped Dress

Bra-Topped Dress

The idea of using a bra as a defining feature of a dress could either be considered subversively provocative or perhaps just a clever way of having one less item of clothing to wear. Either way, it’s a sexy style that has been around for years. Most commonly seen in evening or formal wear, modern bra-topped dress with bare midriffs can easily transition from day to evening and from retro to nouveau.

It’s not exactly clear from our research when this style first emerged on the fashion scene. But we were able to find out that Yves St. Laurent was renowned for this style in the 60s. And American designer James Galanos followed suit in 1965 with an evening dress featuring bra top with fake diamonds, rubies and emeralds over a voluminous skirt of ombre chiffon. Fast forward to the current decade and designers such as Einar Holiloekk (Geoffrey Beene) and Nanette Lepore are still featuring the bra-topped dress in their collections. Clearly this style has its place amongst the fashionistas.

But what about the rest of us? Is a dress featuring a bra top and potentially bare midriff the right fashion statement for the bedroom or the fetish club? We say yes! That’s where a clever style comes in. The bra top will put your boobs on display, front and center, and we all know what wonders a good fitting bra can do for a woman’s shape. The rest of the dress can then be form fitting or loose, covering or revealing. It can be whatever best suits your body type and makes you feel most comfortable. With a bra-topped dress, your boobs are definitely the center of attention. Everything else is just the supporting cast.

The bra-topped dress is an elegant outfit that works well in a variety of situations, as long as those situations are seriously sexy. For a bra-topped variation on the ‘little black dress’, take a look at the Angel Short Black Dress by Patrice Catanzaro. This racy number has a flattering design in the midriff area that works well with a variety of body types. It’s an excellent outfit choice if you’re feeling like showing off what you’ve got!

Fishnet Catsuit

Fishnet Catsuit

I don’t think the everyday catsuit needs any introduction. We’re all familiar with this one-piece garment that turns up everywhere from the catwalk to Olympic speed skating to scuba diving to science fiction television shows. And let’s not forget tennis. But even fashion icon Serena Williams didn’t dare step onto the court wearing a fishnet catsuit. This unique piece takes the style and imagination of a traditional catsuit and turns it into a see-through statement of pure sex appeal.

There’s nothing about a fishnet catsuit that doesn’t say, or more accurately, shout, sexy. It hugs every single curve and puts each one of them on display. There many different kinds of fishnet, from the large rope-like mesh all the way through to soft, smooth sheer material. The type of material determines how the catsuit will fit and how it will interact with the body. A larger mesh will create an exciting pattern across the skin, while the softer, sheer material will wrap the body in a satiny sheen that is silky smooth to the touch.

You may also hear the fishnet catsuit referred to more commonly as a bodystocking. While they are both similar in look and feel, a bodystocking is designed to be worn under clothing, or as lingerie. Of course it doesn’t have to be, and neither does a fishnet catsuit. But if you’re thinking of wearing either as an undergarment, think one step further: how much of a surprise it would be for your partner to discover a full-length fishnet catsuit under your every-day business suit upon returning home from an ordinary day at the office?

If this article has you convinced that it’s time to give the very sexy fishnet catsuit a try, may we suggest the Sarah Black Fishnet Catsuit, tight-fitting bodysuit with a high neck and an unzippable crotch, or the Vetina Fully Enclosed Black Fishnet Catsuit, a fully enclosed bodysuit that wraps your entire body in smooth and sheer black fishnet, like a delectable and decadent present just waiting to be opened!

Lacquered Linen Trousers

Lacquered Linen Trousers

Linen trousers might seem an unusual topic to discuss on our blog since we tend to focus on clothes that range from the faintly fetish to the seriously sexy. However, as Marks & Spencer might say if they did ads for our clothes, these are not your ordinary linen trousers! Lacquered linen is a type of fabric that gives a laminated ‘wet look’ and has little resemblance to typical linen. It’s a lightweight summer alternative to traditional fetish wear and definitely worth a discussion.

Lacquered linen is an adaptable, textured fabric. It has a unique woven appearance that has a variety of uses outside of fetish fashion. Lacquered linen tables and other furniture and interior design elements make use of this interesting fabric, as well as dressage whips, which are similar to riding crops, for horseback riding. Although I suppose a dressage whip could also be a useful accessory in the fetish clubs too!

And speaking of fetish clubs, lacquered linen trousers are the perfect fashion choice during the warmer summer months. The shiny appearance, which you might describe as ‘glazed’, has a modern and contemporary look. The light breathable fabric allows for fetish fun and games whilst remaining cool and comfortable. They are loose fitting, which can be a pleasant change from many of the tighter styles traditionally seen in men’s fetish wear. Men’s linen trousers are a classic, elegant and sophisticated style; lacquered linen takes that style one big step further.

So if you’re heading off to your favourite fetish club this summer, instead of going with traditional winter fetish wear like leather or latex, why not look into the stylish and practical alternative of lacquered linen trousers? The Enrick Linen Trousers by Patrice Catanzaro are fashionable, relaxed fit trousers with a stylish and practical look that is certain to turn heads while you keep cool at the same time.

Stud Front Fastening

Stud Front Fastening

Stud fasteners are also known as snaps, poppers and press-studs. They comprise a pair of plastic or metal interlocking discs. One has a round nipple-like protrusion and the other a round receptacle. When pressed together with force, they interlock and hold fast. They are generally used as fasteners for clothing, but they are found on other items as well such as wallets. Stud front fastening is when they are used to fasten the front of a garment, such as a shirt, tunic or jacket.

Stud front fastenings are everywhere from the warehouse to the lab to the strip club. If you’re wondering why, it’s simply because they provide an easy and secure way to hold garments together. Because of the design, patented by German inventor Heribert Bauer in 1885, they are super easy to fasten and unfasten even if you’re wearing thick gloves – far easier than buttons or zips. And in the case of the strip club, they also provide a quick and easy way to get clothing off!

Stylistically, typical stud fasteners have a unique look. The outer disc has a distinct silver circle that, when arranged vertically down the front of a shirt, adds an ‘edge’ to a garment that buttons just don’t have. When used in more creative ways, such as down the front of a form-fitting shirt dress, they create an ‘easy to open’ temptation that’s hard to resist. And on a shirt or dress, it’s up to you how many you’d like to leave open, showing as little or as much as you dare.

Garments with stud front fastenings are stylish, easy to open and close and very versatile. For a sexy, ‘come and get it’ look, you can’t go wrong with a stud front fastening, and that goes for both men and women. Men, take a look at the Tom Black Short Sleeved Shirt. And women, for two dress options, try the Laurine Short Black High Neck Dress or the Noemi Short Tight Black Shirt-Dress. As you can see, all of these styles make stud front fastening a very sexy option!

Under-Bust Corset

Under-Bust Corset

Under-Bust Corset

The under-bust corset is one of many specific styles of corset. It covers the area from just under the breasts, thus the name, to the hips. They are sometimes also referred to as waist cinchers, or waspies, which have a slightly different design. But the basic purpose of the garment, to cinch the waist and create an hourglass shape, is consistent for this important fashion item.

Style guru Gok Wan sums up the role of the under-bust corset in modern fashion very nicely: “Very rarely you meet a woman that’s got 34/24/34 – which is basically the typical hourglass shape. If you haven’t got it – don’t worry about it, all you need to do is get a waist cincher. It nips in the waist and gives you that instant hourglass shape.” With sturdy boning throughout and lacing in the back, the underbust corset can redefine the shape of your waist, and your entire figure as a result.

Christian Dior’s ‘New Look’ line of clothing in 1947 launched the waist cincher into popular culture. His desire for “hand-span waists above enormous spreading skirts” could only be achieved with this important foundation garment. Fast forward to today and the underbust corset is now equally at home when worn over a top with anything ranging from jeans to a sexy skirt. Creating the all-important ‘womanly curve’ is no longer limited to catwalks and designer fashions.

The under-bust corset is a garment that’s both stylish and useful. It can redefine your waistline and transform your entire appearance in the process. Whether you wear it on it’s own or with something underneath, the transforming effect is the same. For a sexy variation, take a look at the Anais Black Under-Bust Waspie Corset. Made of black laqué with PVC highlights, it’s a sleek and sexy way to make sure your curves don’t go unnoticed.
